As I sit here and reflect on the past week, I realize how much work went into it. How people changed their plans just to help out, and I'm glad to see that kind of dedication. It's kind of rare sometimes to see it but I'm really happy I did. Some of the first years are truly stepping up to the plate, I won't name names, but there are some up and comers. I think next year will have a lot more TV students then this year.
It's funny I didn't really realize how much I love this profession until a first year asked me if I miss being in Radio. Let me tell you I LOVED RADIO in first year. I was truly considering taking it as a profession FOR SURE. One day in TV we were given an assignment to make a music video based on a movie, and we'll you know my love for movies. So I worked on it for at least 12 hours, making a video based on 2008's best film "The Dark Knight." Here's the link to the video. Anyways I had so much fun doing it that I changed majors. So back to the moment that the first year asked me about if I missed Radio. I thought about it....sat there and thought about it and I looked at him in the eyes and said....No, not at all. I couldn't believe what I said but I'm glad I did. I am working my butt off and I'm loving every second of it.
Friday I'm heading down to New Minas to shoot a soundscape on the Olympic Torch run. Should be fun but until then, I bid you all adieu!
Joel D....Signing off
